Landscape
The photos I took were from the Breadloaf area in Ripton, including the summer cabin of Robert Frost, and some of the nearby cemetery. After reading the MIT link information, I really liked the one about landscape as history, and this is what I tried to capture in my photos that I took that day. So here are the four I narrowed it down to.

I love the stone fence shot with the gate open... it's as if nature is welcoming! Great setup! I also especially like the cementary with the maple. Very peaceful and serene - again great composition.
p.s. I think you should make postcards!
I agree with Rachel - it looks like an entrance to a different world.
and the vibrancy of the tree with the red tree is incredible (near the barn)
I love the red in the tree as well, but I really like The picture where the barn is peaking out from behind the trees. Even though it's a very peaceful shot, it still gives the barn a sense of mystery.
Caitlin and "Cat Lover" (sorry don't know actual name),
Thanks!
"the barn" is actually not a barn. : )
That is the summer cabin of Robert Frost. But it does have that rustic look of a barn, which I love! It really is beautiful up here in Ripton, and it was a beautiful day and it was very calming and peaceful.
Yes, the is one of the reasons that choose the cabin amidst the landscape, because it gave it that secluded and mysteriousness look about it.

Rach,
Thanks, your so sweet! I enjoyed taking the photos of landscapes that an object or two in them. Just taking a shot of the mountains/foliage and a field wasn't really doing it for me, and I could really see that when I looked at them on the computer. And my intentions when I set out to shoot was capturing landscape as history.
Funny you should mention postcards, I was thinking about printing up some matted 5x7's to sell here at our country store and locally at a store that just sells Vermont made items. I know here at the country store we get a lot of out-of-town/state visitors, especially now through ski season. I guess I better hop on it before the opportunity is lost.
Thanks for the encouragement and advice!

Oh the quintessential VT fall day with leaves on the ground yet still on the trees. The cabin shots are both framed very nicely especially the red tree and cabin framed my a analogous almost monotone fall gold. The fence photo makes my eye follow right in through the gate...
